Commemoration Exhibition of the 99th Anniversary of the May Fourth Movement
4 to 26 May the 107th year of the Republic (2018)

At 4pm on Friday 4 May in the 107th year of the Republic (2018), the Allegiance to the National Flag Committee of Sung Tao Society held the opening ceremony of the Commemoration Exhibition of the 99th Anniversary of the May Fourth Movement at Ping Art Space. 

The May Fourth Movement was an event that took place on 4 May 1919, when students in Peking realized that the Paris Peace Conference had failed China and the partition of Tsingtao was irrevocable, they banded together and vowed to reverse the predicament. Their protest later evolved into a nationwide movement.

The Commemoration Exhibition ended on 26 May, and lasted a period of twenty two days. The exhibits included works by the following fifteen personages: Lou Tseng-tsiang (陸徵祥), Wang Cheng-t’ing (王正廷), Koo Vi Kyuin (顧維鈞), Liang Ch’i-ch’ao (梁啟超), Lin Ch’ang-min (林長民), Ts’ai Yüan-p’ei (蔡元培), Chiang Monlin (蔣夢麟), Hu Shih (胡適), Chu Chia-hua (朱家驊), Liang Ching-ch’un (梁敬錞) , Yao Ts’ung-wu (姚從吾), Ti Ying (狄膺), Fu Ssu-nien (傅斯年), Lo Chia-lun (羅家倫), Chiang Fu-ts’ung (蔣復璁), Ch’eng T’ien-fang (程天放). 

The guest speaker to address the special lecture at the opening ceremony was Mr. Shen Lyu-shun (沈呂巡大使),  former Ambassador to the United States. Mr. Hsü Chih-p’ing (許志平先生) of Ping Art Space sponsored the venue. A number of exhibits were loaned by Mr. Wu Hui-k’ang (吳輝康先生) and Mr. Huang I-chen (黃議震先生).
